Excellent Universal Remote January 9, 2009 Excellent product! Easy to set up with the software and online program. Had everything running in 1/2 hour to my suprise. I am 66 years old and not the most computer literate person in the world. Did have a few small problems but the help menue built into the remote resolved all of these. A bit pricey but well worth the cost.
Awesome!!! January 9, 2009 I got this in November and when it arrived I set it up right away. It was very easy to set up although you must know the model and brand of each item before you can set it up. The set up is done using your computer and it is very simple. I do recommend before buying this item that you go to logitec's website and use their compatibility tool to make sure your equipment will work with it. I was able to hook it up with my TV, Surround Sound system, Comcast Cable DVR, and my Xbox. They do not however work with the PS3. The only problem I have come across is the signal that goes to the Xbox not only navigates me threw the Xbox but causes my computer to do things. I didn't notice until I was typing up a paper the other day and my boyfriend was putting a movie on the Xbox. I lost a few sentences as I watched in shock thinking at first that my computer had been hijacked or something. Other than that it's great having just one remote to run everything. If your thinking of getting it DO. You'll love it too.
OVERALL GOOD PRODUCT January 9, 2009 THIS IS REAL NICE TO HAVE WHEN DEALING WITH 3 OR MORE REMOTES, SET-UP FOR ME IS A WORK IN PROGRESS THAT I NEED TO KEEP CHANGING AND ADJUSTING UNTILL I GET IT PERFECT.
PROS: *MANY OPTIONS AND WAYS TO SET IT UP *MANY DEVICES WILL WORK WITH IT
CONS: *NEEDS A LOT OF SET-UP TIME IF YOUR A PICKY PERSON
Very, very bad product design January 9, 2009 Logitech really missed the mark here. What a bunch of knuckle draggers they must have had working on this. Just about anything that could be badly done when designing a remote was done here. The little screen uses fonts which are blurry at the resolution the screen displays. The icons on the screen interfere with readability of the text to make it almost illegible. The numeric buttons are too tightly packed to be able to effectively use them in the dark. The layout of the buttons requires that you shift your grip up and down the remote for related functions, such as displaying a channel guide, paging through it, viewing info on an item, and making a selection. The charging station requires that the remote sit so precisely in position that it seems just a gentle breeze could cause a shift and stop the charging. And the build quality--at least that of my remote--is very bad. The rocker button in the center of the remote requires much more force pushing on the right side of it than the left. The numeric keys down the left side of the remote take so much pressure to work them that it is difficult to not press more than one at a time. Finally, although the software is very intelligent about a great many devices and their interactions in a systematic way, it requires that you create a user account on Logitech's web site to program the remote. It was no trouble to enter fake credentials and a junk email address but still, come on, a user account?
All in all, Logitech did a horrible job with this remote. There's not much else about it that could have been poorer.
Graet remote........easy set up January 8, 2009 I set up the remote today and so far it works wonderful. Set up took about ten minutes! Amazing.....I bought this remote not because it can control up to 15 devices, but because it has a rechargable battery. I only control four devices.
