Good deal for price... but NO advanced navigation January 7, 2009 Bought the Nuvi 265WT because of good price for the features... Wanted Bluetooth and 'speak' mode - free FM traffic was a plus. Sorry that I overlooked the advanced navigation being missing - didn't realize that multi-leg routes were not allowed and some other features were missing that I had seen on a friends 660... especially ability to see next 3, 4 exits when on interstate highways - good feature for rest stops etc... Good unit, though - works well as do all Garmin products.
Nuvi 265WT January 7, 2009 This is a great GPS system with loads of features. I am completly happy with it.
Excellent Purchase January 7, 2009 The Garmin nuvi 265WT is the best GPS Navigator I have ever used. It is easy to use and it has several options that I have not seen on other navigators. It shows the speed limit for Interstates and Highways and even gives you information on delays, such as heavy traffic and construction zones. It is easy to add stops on your trip or to find attractions, food, gas stations, banks, hospitals, etc. You can search places nearest to where you are currently or you can look for them around your destination. This is, by far, the best purchase I have ever made!!!
Wrong Instruction Manual Sent January 6, 2009 The nuvi garmin is great, but I have not been able to utilize the traffic feature as I was sent an instruction book for a unit that does not include the traffic feature. I have been unable to obtain the correct book to date, and wonder if the traffic transmitter even works!
A Hidden Feature - Route tracing January 6, 2009 In addition to everyone else's review, I just wanted to point out a hidden feature not documented anywhere. If you use 2-D display, it traces your path with a light blue line. There is no way to turn it off. The trace stays for 2 weeks. On a freeway, the trace is sided. If you go to a new place, very likely you can follow the trace back without having to ask it for direction. When you frequent a parking lot, you can also see the parking lot gradually being filled up with light blue (your trace). It's like a game encouraging you to explore new routes. Fun feature! Give it a try! I wish they have documented it!
