We have given this as a gift several times, and you really can race the grannies, contrary to what previous reviews have said. This is not a serious racing set by any means, but we had some hysterical races at birthday parties. A very fun & unusual gift, and a bit addictive to play.
Granny Racers Track Racing Game January 18, 2008
This game is fun.It is reminiscent of the slot car days. The grannies look determined and fast.
It could be bigger.However, the size and the battery powered feature does allow you to take it anywhere.
The price is awesome.
I'm thinking about buying another one to keep at work for my clients to use.
lots of laughs January 18, 2008
I ordered the granny racers for my mother at christmas time and when she opened the gift she and all of us had a good laugh! We set up the track and played with it for a good share of the afternoon. It is so funny to see the G-ma's going around that track. The only drawback is the track itself is on the small side. I think it could be even more fun if the track was larger and one could make the course different. Nevertheless, it brought an afternoon of excitement,skill(yes, it does require some!)and laughter for all.

It went together very well and feels solid. The parts are all nice quality, but when it comes to playing the game, well, grandma cannot stay on course for even one lap. The kids try to slow down the racers in the corners but it is almost impossible. Granny flies off the track constantly. I tried adjusting the metal contacts under each racer, but that was futile. Overall, pretty disappointing even for my eight and four year olds...

The track comes apart frequently particularly while assembling the track. When the Granny Racers cross over to the other track the power stops.
