Great experience from seller, fast delivery, everything is true to word ,so far. My TomTom XXL is great, the screen is big and easy to read. Worked out of the box as promised.Love the POA's and traffic feature.

I received my TomTom XXL 540TM World Edition and immediately went to update the maps. I will be traveling to Lithuania Poland and Hungary. I noticed that only maps of the USA, Canada and Mexico were updated.
I phoned customer service to ask about the Europe map updates and was told that first I must update USA maps then I will be given options to update Europe. After completion no options for Europe map updates were available.
I called back and was told that only USA maps get updated and that I must buy the Europe map updates. I thought that this was impossible and called back to get the same answer.
With that I looked at the information on the Amazon site which clearly states "Free Lifetime Traffic and Map Updates for the US, Canada, Mexico & Europe."
I looked on the box and it says exactly the same thing.
I called back and I was told that I should refer to their web site and Europe maps are not included. I explained that it states that lifetime updates are included right on the box and I was told that I am mistaken. I then spoke to a supervisor who explained that there was a miscommunication and that everyone thought that I was trying to update after one year and Europe maps are only updated for a 1 year period (again TomTom states free updates for life).
All lies by TomTom - they do not want to update to the latest Europe maps. I did get my upgrade and I found out that it was handled as a courtesy.
This is not a courtesy - the box and all of the TomTom documentation for the XXL 540TM World Edition states "Free Lifetime Traffic and Map Updates for the US, Canada, Mexico & Europe."

I have used a TomTom One for yewars. This product is certainly an upgrade. So far I have been pleased with it.

I purchased the TomTom XXL 540TM (Lifetime Traffic & Maps Edition) 5-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator because I wanted up-to-date and accurate maps. I didn't mind paying a little more to have that. When I got it I downloaded the latest update and put my home in by using my current position. It did not show any roads within one quarter mile of my home even though the street I am on has been here over 20 years. I put in the Wal-Mart store as a destination and it was over one block away from its actual location. No problem, it allows for user corrections. The correction menu only allowed me to correct the address, but the correct address was entered, the map just had that address in the wrong place which I could not correct. I found that over 80% of the points of interest in my home city were at least a block from their actual location. I love the navigation features, but I hope when I go to bigger cities it will actually navigate me to where I want to go. I am taking along my old Garmin just in case.

I used to have the Tomtom One, with a 4.3" screen. I got this one for the larger screen. The software has many improvements, but is essentially the same. What I really like is the red light camera notifications the map update service and the traffic info. If you liked earlier Tomtoms, this is a great upgrade.
