 Nice Case for DS Lite ; Does NOT Work for DSi April 9, 2010

My two kids have a DS Lite and a DSi. This case does NOT fit the DSi well, but it DOES fit the DS Lite just fine, and is a nice case for the DS Lite.
The DSi is a bit wider than the DS Lite, and the L & R button protrude a bit from the back of the unit. Therefore, when the DSi is placed in this case, the L and R buttons touch the inside edge of the case, and sometimes actually get pressed by the edge of the case. I did not like this, since the only reason one of my kids even has a DSi in the first place is because he dropped his DSLite on the L button, and broke the button. I bought this case to prevent a similar recurrence, but I am afraid that if the DSi were dropped while inside this case it would still break the L or R buttons.
That being said, I placed the other kid's DS Lite in the case, and it fits beautifully without touching the L & R buttons. When the case is zipped, the slight compression from the top and bottom of the case keep the DS Lite in place (i.e. not sliding around inside the case). Both my kid and I find it too much hassle to use the two little elastic straps on the inside to hold the DS Lite. We just put it in the case and zip it up. I just told him to be careful when he opens it. We are now using this case for the DS Lite daily.
So, this is a great case for a DS Lite, but is much too tight a fit for a DSi. This case which was obviously designed specifically for the smaller DS Lite.
For the DSi, I ended up buying the similar, but slightly larger DS Lite Mini Folio - Black. It has more space around the unit, and fits the DSi well. The only downside is that the Mini Folio is much thicker than this EVA case. I would still get this one for the DS Lite.

Very pleased with the DS case. Solid construction and durable. It has saved the DS on many an occasion already from drops. Only complaint is that you can't fully zip it up with the charging cable plugged into the unit.

I bought this for my gf as a addition to her bulky case that carry's a million and one accessories. First off the product is great but the little flap for games shown in the pictures seems to be MIA on mine but i hadn't noticed until writing this review so no biggie. The case itself seems well made and her DS lite fits perfect inside with the silicon slip case she has on it. The protection offered is pretty decent. I wouldn't want to go throwing it around as it's far from a nerf case. As far as storage it's really limited you could fit some ear-bud style headphones a couple games and that's it no charger or anything without really jamming it but that's not really the function of a case this small in the first place.Overall I'm really glad i bought this case she loves it and it has become the new primary home for her DS.
