First roadtrip with GPS October 18, 2008 I highly recommend this product. Having purchased the Garmin Nuvi 760 just days before a 450 miles trip into back woods territory in another state, I was anxious, as an elderly newbie, to learn enough to use my first GPS. Since only a quick start brochure came with it, I went to Garmin's website and downloaded the full manual to study for a few hours. What a pleasant surprise to find that the Nuvi 760 was intuitive and worked perfectly including using MP3, Bluetooth and TMS traffic information in a large metroplex area. A small hole in my car's radiator on a deserted strip of back road out of state brought my car to a stop as the sun was going down. I called my auto club on the GPS's Bluetooth, but no help was available on a Saturday night. Checking the "Points of Interest" menu on the Nuvi 760, quickly brought up a half dozen local services, and my car was soon being transported to the nearest town. The only con about this product is the lack of a full manual included in the package.
Balls mount loosens October 18, 2008 GPS is great. Some areas need improvement such as getting to various menu items. My worst concern is the ball mount on the back of the GPS unit itself. It is already starting to loosen up in less than a month of ownership and I do not see a fix for it except the need to keep purchasing new ball mounts which would add up quickly.
pretty good unit October 18, 2008 Bought this on the recommendation of CReports. I dislike the learning curve with most electronics, but this was easy to program/set/use. Works slightly better than the units my neighbors own. My only complaint is that I was told that this unit has all the newest mapping, but the unit has twice gotten "lost" around roads completed in the last year.
Not what I expected October 17, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Purchased this GPS from Amazon and I have had it for about 2 months,I purchased this GPS because if you have MapSource on your computer you can map out your trip and put in all the stops you want to make and load it into the unit. I have been having problems with it stalling when it gets to loading maps, Have talked to garmin and right now not impressed with them they say I may have to return it for repairs and it sound like I would be paying to return it, so if you are considering a GPS and don't need the features this one has I suggest just a bassic one, I have the Garmin 350 also and that is a perfect unit.
Love my Garmin Nuvi 760 October 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I own an older Garmin and upgraded to the newer version. This new one has great features and is very easy to use. Compact and light weight for hand held travel use. Indespensible on our cross country car trip while driving and sight seeing on foot. The Attractions feature is great for finding things to do in the area. Would highly reccomend purchasing this GPS system.
